To keep it short - Apologies in Advance did not perform up to expectations. I lost the first match by judges decision (votes came out to a tie - but they gave it to him - I think I should've won - but thats how it goes). I won the second match, also by decision (it was close though). I lost the third match due to a faulty plug on my receiver which caused my bot to go dead after taking a couple hits (although this was partially due to a design issue).

Typically my bot would land a few good hits - sending sparks flying, but once the blade stopped - the opponent was able to push themselves up against me, preventing me from spinning up again. Since my bot was pretty dang slow - it wasn't able to back off and spin up again.

Basically Apologies in Advance puts on a real good demonstration - but doesn't work all that well in actual battles. My previous bot - Arrogant Bastard http://www.spambutcher.com/bots.html wasn't as powerful - but was a lot faster moving - so it was able to land a punch, back off to spin up, then land another punch.

Next seattle area match will likely be in April - I intend on having an entirely new robot build by then. New one will likely be similar to Arrogant Bastard in design.
