SpamButcher - Behind the Cleaver

Being a long time internet user - my main account had developed a pretty serious problem with unwanted spam email. I had used my email address to register dozens of domains. Back in the day Network Solutions made their entire database of domain registrations public - so anybody who had registered a domain in a given window of time basically signed up with every junk email sender on the planet.

A number of people I rarely correspond with, but still wanted to maintain contact to had my old address - so I didn't want to just get a new one. At the time there were a handful of software based anti-spam products available - so I started examining my options.

Initially the notion of developing my own software to block spam didn't even occur to me - but the sad state of other products on the market eventually led me down that road.
