SpamButcher is a powerful anti-spam program that can stop over 97% of unwanted email.
SpamButcher - Behind the CleaverDevelopment was proceeding well, but far from done. It was getting time to give the new product a name.My initial favorite was SpamSniper - but someone already had a website up at www.spamsniper.com. They also were working on an application for stopping spam email - and their announced launch date was about the same time as my own. To my surprise the product never materialized - and now the domain redirects to someone else's site. Even though I was fairly early in the spam filtering software market - a lot of the obvious good names for spam blocker programs were gone - Spam Buster, Spam Killer, etc. I wanted a product name that made it clear that the products purpose was to block unwanted email, easy to remember and "brandable." I wanted the product to have a logo that could clearly be identified with the application. I eventually came up with SpamButcher - and have been pretty happy with the results. |
