Bill Gates to Solve Spam Problem

According to Bill Gates "Two years from now, spam will be solved."

He envisioned a few possible solutions - primarily focused with either forcing the sender to confirm their identity, or requiring them to pay a small fee.

One options requires the sender to solve a puzzle to verify the email is legitimate.

All of his various suggestions to block unwanted email require fundamental changes to the way email is sent, or significant inconveniences to the end-user.

Rumor has it Bill Gates also has a sure-fire plan to solve the Israeli - Palestinian conflict.

Until Bill manages to solve the worlds problems, users with chronic spam email should investigate software to solve their junk email problem.

Update: It's now the middle of 2005. Microsoft has engaged in countless lawsuits involving spammers, but has made to real progress in the war on spam. While it doesn't seem far to charge Microsoft with this duty, Bill might seem a bit less silly if he just kept his trap shut.
