Openrbl.org provides an easy way to query different anti-spam email DNS Blacklists.
DNS Blacklists (also referred to as SMTP Blacklists or Blocklists) contain lists of servers, internet domains or networks that are known to be sources of spam. Different blacklists have different criteria for inclusion.
These blacklists are then used by various spam blockers to help determine which messages are spam and which aren't. SpamButcher's anti-spam filter can optionally be configured to use a bl Most commonly blacklists are used by anti-spam software running server side - on an ISP's incoming SMTP (mail) server.
While effective, blacklists can catch legitimate email if too `aggressive' ones are used. SpamButcher's default blacklist is fairly `conservative' - so it almost always only gets rid of spam.
