Account Configuration



From this screen you can add, change or remove the accounts that SpamButcher blocks spam for.

Clicking the Add or Change buttons will bring up the dialog below.



If you are unsure of your account settings, the required information can frequently be found under the "Configuration" menu of your e-mail client. If you cannot determine what your settings are contact your ISP.

Identity

Account Name

Specify a name for the account you want SpamButcher to filter spam from. You may choose any name you like as it does not relate to any server settings.

E-mail Address
Enter the e-mail address for your account here.


POP Server (Incoming Mail)

POP3 Server

This is the server SpamButcher will check for incoming messages.

Logon
This is your logon account for the POP3 server.

Password
Enter the password for your POP3 server here.

Use Secure Authentication
Check this box if you require secure authentication when connecting to your POP3 server. Most users should leave this unchecked.

Advanced
Clicking this button will allow you to specify a non-standard port for your POP3 server. Most users should not change this.

POP3 Test
Clicking this button will cause SpamButcher to logon to your POP3 server to verify your settings.


SMTP Server (Outgoing Mail)

SMTP Server

Specify your SMTP server here. SpamButcher uses your SMTP server to restore messages.

Requires Authentication
Check this box if your SMTP server requires authentication.

Logon
Enter the account you use to logon to your SMTP server here. This is frequently the same account used to logon to your POP3 server. This field will only be enabled if you have checked "Requires Authentication."

Password
Enter the password you use to logon to your SMTP server here. This is frequently the same password used to logon to your POP3 server. This field will only be enabled if you have checked "Requires Authentication."

Detect SMTP Server
This button will cause SpamButcher to attempt to automatically detect your SMTP server. If you are having trouble using the SMTP server listed in your e-mail client with SpamButcher, try clicking this button.

Advanced
Clicking this button will allow you to specify a non-standard port for your SMTP server. Most users should not change this.

SMTP Test
Clicking the Test button will cause SpamButcher to send you a test message using your SMTP server settings.
