Yet More Data Can-Spam Has Flopped

The latest data from MX logic indicates that can spam has failed to get rid of spam, and that compliance with the new law has actually fallen.

Over all - less than 1% of spam emails are now compliant with the law. Spammers seem to be unconcerned about the possible legal ramifications of the new law and are flaunting it.

This is somewhat surprising considering how law the actual legal restrictions placed by the CAN-SPAM anti-spam email legislation are. CAN-SPAM doesn't even really try to be solution for spam - it only attempts to regulate certain types of it unwanted email with minor restrictions.

Even entirely legitimate businesses don't seem bothered to comply with the basic regulations. This in theory puts them in similar legal jeopardy to spammers. So far, there has been no effort to prosecute senders of wanted email.

Short of getting a new email address, the most effective way to combat your own spam problem is by utilizing spam blocking software.
