Many email sending applications do not list actual recipients, or send out messages one at a time. For these messages, you don't have any spam buddies.

It only recently occurred to me that this is a useful phenomenon. Odds are you don't actually know your spam buddies, and have no interest in email sent from or too them. This makes their addresses ripe for adding to your mail filter software as a custom filter.

Nearly all spam mail stopper packages include some kind of custom filtering option. In fact, the feature is often over-used. Users mistakenly think that by adding every imaginable way of spelling, "v1@gora" they'll cut down on their spam. However, deleting all email sent to your spam buddy is both safe, and likely to really reduce the amount of spam you get.

In SpamButcher, the easiest method to block messages sent to your Spam Buddy is to add them as a general-purpose custom filter. Custom filters apply to the entire message content, not just the body text. Other applications may require you set a rule to specifically monitor the recipient field.
