New Technology Firewalls Your E-Mail, and saves I.S.P's a fortune, as envisaged under the Can-Spam Act 2003.
(PRWEB) January 22 2004--Following the signing of the Can-Spam Act 2003 by President Bush on the 16th December 2003, unsolicited e-mail is now officially an offence in the U.S.A. The President has stated that he wishes to see the law and technology combine, to both defeat and to prosecute the authors of such mail both within state and also federaly. Also to frustrate hackers and the senders of hidden script, embedding tags, viruses, spyware, tracking devices, and other bugs in e-mail and attachments.
Until now there has not been any satisfactory way to track down and add "spammers" to a data base, whilst bouncing their rubbish back at them, as the required technology was not available.
Times have now changed however, and Nick Bolton, who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand has come up with the answer to the President's dream. His software, which is to be marketed under the brand names Mailwasher, and Benign, enables all computer users both commercially and privately to receive mail which is safe from viruses, worms, scripts, web bugs, privacy threats and other security risks.
It would seem that the President's prayers have been answered, as this latest technology neutralizes or strips out the code that makes viruses, worms, scripts and other potentially harmful things work, and makes downloading all e-mail safe. It is simple to set up, and then to leave it to police all incoming e-mail in micro seconds.
Unlike antivirus programs which need to know the virus first, Nick Bolton's program protects e-mail programs from viruses and other threats, even if the particular virus hasn't been written yet, and is therefore unknown to the program. It therefore never needs updating, as it reads and recognizes all items which should not be in a regular e-mail.
His twin program, Mailwasher enables mail to be read directly from an Internet Service Provider without it even being downloaded, and so now it is possible to choose what is downloaded, and to bounce the rubbish back at the spammers. At the same time the spammer and/or his/her domain is added to a list of known spammers, who may then be prosecuted under the new legislation.
If these two pieces of technology wont protect every computer's mail program both commercially and privately then nothing will. At last, this is what the computer world and the Can-Spam Act 2003 have been waiting for.
The Can-Spam Act 2003 aims to reduce the cost and wastage caused to commercial firms and to internet service providers, by irradicating unsolicited e-mail, and to, at the same time, make it impossible for the senders of such mail to infect and disrupt businesses generally by having their own computer systems attacked.
Until now, internet service providers have had to constantly update and re-invest, in order to prevent spammers blocking their systems. This has caused vast and continuing expense to all users of computers worldwide. Now, all this can be rectified with just two small programs.
To summarize, here are two small programs which will out perform all that has been desired under the Can-Spam Act 2003, and will also allow internet service providers to save a fortune in costs.
