Bill Gates World's Most Spammed Man?

According to a recent news story - Bill Gates gets over four million - that's 4,000,000 emails / day - a large chunk of it "spam" of various sorts.

Bill apparently has a small army of Microsoft employees assigned to sorting through his inbox - effectively an entire team of human spam blockers. While this is certainly one way to effectively and accurately eliminate spam - most "normal" people have to resort to computerized filtering - or just deal with the issue themselves.

Steve Ballmer also gets a lot of spam - but claims that most of it is handled by Microsoft's IT department. The story didn't indicate if the spam was handled by anti-spam software, or by people.

Computer based filtering is far less costly to implement than human screening. However, considering a single email may be worth millions of dollars to a company like Microsoft, the expense of having a person open and read each email may not be prohibitive.

They may also use a combination of human and machine intelligence. A computer may remove the obvious spam, with a person reviewing emails that are more difficult to evaluate.
