15 Nations Sign up for Spam Crackdown

15 countries have signed up to participate in the 'London Action Plan on Spam' as part of an anti-spam discussion meeting held in London. The summit was hosted by the U.S. FTC and other communications authorities..

While many industrialized nations have chosen to be involved - two major sources of spam - China and Russia - have opted to not take part in the plan. America - both the source and the recipient of much spam - is participating.

The plan itself doesn't seem to actually do anything to help in blocking spam directly. It just encourages further dialog and discussion between national bodies on the topic. This may serve to help enforce existing laws and craft new ones.
