Brightmail Claims Spam has Leveled

Antispam program maker, Brightmail has claimed that the spam level has leveled.

A few weeks previously AOL made a similar claim - suggesting the amount of spam has in fact dropped.

Brightmail says that the percentage of spam passing through its servers has been level at around 66% for the last several months. This measurement method suggests a problem.

They are specifically measuring how much spam their spam detector finds. It does not account for the very real possibility that the amount of spam is going up, but there system is just missing a bunch of it.
