Earthlink Gets Agreement to Stop Spammers

Two major spammers have just agreed to stop sending junk e-mail in accordance with an arrangement with EarthLink.

The two spammers have decided to comply with a court order, requiring that they not send e-mail spam. The will also reimburse Earthlink a certain cash amount for damages incurred.

Recently, many major ISPs have filed lawsuits aimed at stopping spam. One of the spammers had been rated one of the biggest senders of junk e-mail messages on the planet.

Earthlink took legal action against the pair last year, saying they took part in national level junk e-mail campaigns. Apparently over 250M spam messages were dispatched to users by over a dozen different individuals and companies.
