Who Buys from Spam?

Recent studies show that about 8% of U.S. internet users have purchased something from mail spam at some point.

Who the heck are these people? I have some theories.

People who buy from spam email are the same people who buy stuff from telemarketers. They're the reason 'Debt Relief Northwest' keeps calling me and leaving me messages. Apparently the "national do-not-call-list" doesn't apply to them.

They're the same folks who call 1-800-GOT-JUNK to have their unwanted refuse hauled off. You know, the ones who litter the streets with their illegal signs.

They give their business to companies who leave their trash on my doorstep a few times a week. Never mind that I have a "No Handbills" sign up. Apparently that doesn't mean them.

Anyways, in general they're the type of people who fully deserve the goods spammers pitch: fake medical solutions, bogus email filters, get-rich-quick scams, and fraud in general.
