Bling Bling Spam Spam
Bling Bling Spam Spam
According to anti-spam info website - spamfo.co.uk a cultural phenomena known as 'Chav' is behind a lot of spam.
The term Chavs describes a youthful urban demographic that values material things of apparent worth. For example, fake Rolexes and SUVs with shiny wheels. It has ties to hip-hop culture. This makes me wonder - when did I stop being a youth?
I don't get kids today. Anyone with a clue knows that real bling is about big-screen TV's and stock options.
What frustrates me the most about chav spam is that a lot of it's difficult for e-mail filters to identify. Frequently the message will have a title along the lines of, "it was nice meeting you." The actual message body then consists of, "You like R0L3X? - click here!"
Fortunately this spam usually contains links back to the advertising site. This can help make it easier for spam killers to detect and eliminate.
In all fairness - young hip-hoppers can't be blamed any more for bling-spam, than older men who "can't get it up" can be blamed for Viagra spam. For any subset of the population, there are products that will appeal to them. From those, a few will purchase products advertised via spam.
Anyone know where I can get my mortgage rate cut to below 3%?
