When I try to recover an email message I receive an error. What are my options?
If you are receiving a "553" or "address not verified" error, download the latest version of SpamButcher, and make sure the "Recover messages as if sent from my own email address" option is enabled for your account settings in SpamButcher.
First, verify that your server settings are correct. Specifically - the SMTP server setting needs to be set correctly in order for SpamButcher to recover messages.
There are a number of thing that can cause SpamButcher to not be able to recover messages even if your server settings are correct.
Your ISP may now be detecting the message as spam and blocking it (even though it didn't the first time it was received). It is also possible your firewall or other security software may be preventing SpamButcher from accessing your outgoing email server.
Alternate Method for recovering email messages:
Select message to be recovered in SpamButcher
Click the "View Message" button
Click the "Save" button
Save the message as a file to your desktop or other convenient location
You may now access the message by double-clicking on the saved file
