Every few minutes SpamButcher checks your inbox for spam. Unwanted messages are moved to a holding area for your later examination.

Unlike competing spam control software, SpamButcher's mail filter uses fuzzy logic to isolate and remove spam. This technology can protect you from unwanted e-mail with fewer false positives than other spam control utilities. SpamButcher understands tactics used by spammers to stop spam that other anti-spam software can't.

The filter runs in tandem with your existing email program. Both your client and SpamButcher are configured with identical server settings. In contrast to some spam control tools that work as "proxies," there is no need to reconfigure your existing mail client. However, for best performance automated checking for new messages should be disabled. SpamButcher will provide notification whenever new email messages have arrived.

Our research has indicated that most attempts to "fight back" against spammers with tactics like "bounce messages" don't work. In the end, these are simply marketing tactics attempting to appeal to user's understandable desire to seek revenge against those who pollute their inboxes.

SpamButcher uses multiple methods to reduce spam including fuzzy logic, customer filters and optionally spam control server lists. SpamButcher also allows end-users to add custom filters to optimize the product to their needs. As advances to filtering technology are introduced into the code-base, free updates will be made available.

SpamButcher can send you scheduled reports of controlled spam via e-mail. With Outlook and Outlook Express, inadvertently filtered messages can be restored directly from the reports.
