Valpak ignores my opt-out request

Valpak is a company that sends out envelopes full of coupons about once a week.
I had previously written that I filled out Valpak’s removal form on November 29th, 2007.
In fact - my memory says I filled out their removal form several times before that; it’s just that this last time I was smart enough to document doing it.
So what do I get in the mail on January 2nd, 2008? You guessed it - coupons from Valpak.
As soon as I figure out how to port SpamButcher’s spam protection into a version that works on physical unsolicited mail, I’ll let you know.
So, this time I’ve sent a letter to valerie@valpak.com (as instructed on their site).
The Alabama Environmental Council’s page on reducing postal junk lists a fax number for them. Maybe I’ll try that if Valerie can’t fix the problem.
It seems to me that Valpak is behaving a lot like spammers do. They provide an opt-out mechanism - but aren’t particularly diligent in supporting it. That said, I’ve found commercial physical email marketers to be more cooperative than most spammers.
